We Are Discontinuing Our VIP Editor Program

I’m sad to report that we misjudged the demand for editors. When we created our Patreon, we wanted to offer a program where writers could have articles edited through redeeming Editing Tokens. In essence, we envisioned a marketplace where writers would submit work and VIP editors would edit, proofread, and critique that work. However, a marketplace needs both supply and demand. While we have a huge supply of issued Edition Tokens and a few eager editors, the demand to redeem tokens is not very high.

In the three months since the launch of our Patreon and the VIP Editing Program, we’ve only had a handful of people submit work for editing. We don’t want to make promises to editors we are unable to fulfill. It’s for this reason we are ending the program. We don’t want to operate under false pretenses.

Of course, we also don’t want to leave our VIP Patrons hanging. We are so grateful for those who support our mission and we want to express that gratitude with perks befitting this top tier of patronage. For starters, we are adding a Thank You section to our About page, linked at the bottom of everything we publish, listing all of our VIPs with links to their Medium profiles to give them exposure to our audience. We plan on introducing other new perks in the coming weeks.

For now, though, we have to put the kibosh on the VIP Editing Program. Thanks for understanding!
